Discarded and submerged in a roadside thorn bush, this Holden bumper was retrieved from the edge of a 100km highway, a dangerous rescue after months of passing it weekly. Scratched, caked in mud, and visibly damaged, it bore the marks of impact and neglect. The act of cleaning it became unexpectedly intimate. The object has been partially sanded down and resprayed by professional auto body workers, its factory silver now bears repentance purple.
