For Jacques is a large scale charcoal drawing series on paper, inspired by the letters of Jacques Fesch. A simple doorway is reimagined as a succession of archways, symbolising the passage from the secular to the sacred. The work reflects Fesch’s profound spiritual conversion during his four years of solitary confinement on death row.
